Mick Szoka is Vice President / Branch Manager for the Prescott, Arizona branch, headquartered in Strongsville, Ohio. Prior to accepting this new role Mick was Senior Vice President of Secondary Marketing for 14 years for Union Home Mortgage Corp.
As Senior Vice President of Secondary Marketing at Union Home Mortgage Corp., Mick was responsible for the risk management of $70- $100 million mortgage pipeline. He also helped achieve corporate growth of more than 40% as a founding member of the Leadership Committee in 2003. In addition to serving on the Leadership Committee, Mick served on the Budget Committee since 2005, where annual expenses were reduced by over $500,000. He introduced and participated in the “Roundtable” interviewing process, increasing the recruitment success rate to over 75%. Mick also developed new relationships with key national and regional investors, resulting in a 30% increase in the company’s product offering. He was responsible for GNMA pooling and Fannie Mae cash deliveries.
As Vice President of Secondary Marketing at Union Home Mortgage Corp., Mick was responsible for strategic planning, profit and loss, risk management and negotiations. He helped develop and implement new secondary marketing strategies for a $1.5 billion mortgage banker that increased the company profits by 16% within 6 months. He also helped achieve a 35 to 40 basis point profit in secondary marketing gains on the mortgage pipeline from 2001 until present through negotiated forward sales and hedge instruments with several national investors and agencies.
Mick graduated from Ohio University in 1992 with a BBA in Small Business Entrepreneurship and General Business and started in the mortgage industry in that same year as a Loan Officer and worked in that role until 1997.
