Stephen Micham has spent more than 26 years helping individuals and families throughout Northwest Ohio navigate important home financing decisions. As the leader of The Micham Group at Union Home Mortgage, his approach is built on three pillars: Transparency, Education, and Unbiased Guidance.
Stephen believes a mortgage professional should do more than quote rates and process a transaction. His role is to understand what each client is trying to accomplish, explain available options and tradeoffs, identify potential obstacles early, and help clients make informed decisions they can feel confident about.
Whether helping a first-time homebuyer, an experienced homeowner, or someone with a more complex financial situation, Stephen especially enjoys solving problems and finding solutions others may have overlooked. His business has been built largely through relationships and referrals from clients and professional partners who value his communication, knowledge, and consultative approach.
Stephen is also a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP®), with specialized training in the mortgage and housing considerations that arise during divorce. This expertise allows him to help divorcing individuals understand how decisions involving income, debt, support, and property division may affect mortgage qualification and future housing options.
A lifelong Northwest Ohio resident, Stephen was born and raised in Maumee and graduated from the University of Toledo. He served as the 2019 President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Northwest Ohio and remains active in the local mortgage and professional community.
Stephen lives in Perrysburg with his wife and enjoys spending his free time biking, hiking, kayaking, and being outdoors.
